Deborah Francis, Managing Director & Solicitor

Deborah is a solicitor with 18 years’ experience in dispute resolution, specialising in employment law and contentious probate.

She provides advice and assistance to both employers and employees in all aspects of employment law. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association

Deborah recently completed the ACTAPS course and can also provide advice and assistance in connection with 1975 Act claims for provision to be made from a deceased Estate (on behalf of claimants and defendants), Will and Estate disputes, disputes regarding the validity lifetime gifts, raising proprietary estoppels and resolving disputes involving Executors, Trustees, Beneficiaries and Attorneys.

She is personable, approachable and very supportive of clients during what is often a very emotional time particularly, when they have lost a loved one and find themselves locked in a dispute relating to the Estate. She represents client’s interests with tenacity whilst also endeavouring to assist them to resolve disputes at the earliest opportunity in order to limit the distress that litigation often causes and to conserve legal costs.

Greg Rollingson

Greg Rollinson, Director and Solicitor

Greg has been a Solicitor for over 30 years, and until June 2018, Greg was Managing Director and Founder of London Law firm Rollingson’s Solicitors Ltd which traded successfully for over 20 years.

Greg has considerable experience in handling a broad range of Litigation matters. This includes:Commercial and contractual disputes, Landlord & Tenant, Employment and Personal Injury Claims.

Greg has also handled sports injury claims (golf injury claims being a speciality), industrial disease, credit hire claims for insurers and individuals. Greg is well connected in the insurance and personal injury world. He has also taken many Litigation cases to trial, had several cases reported and overseen several that have made significant changes to the law. For example, Court of Appeal decisions such as Hatton v Sutherland (law defining stress claims in the workplace) and Copley v Lawn (law governing “intervention” schemes by insurers on credit hire claims).

Greg has given in house training for insurance claims handlers and has given lectures in various areas of law. He has chaired personal injury and credit hire conferences.

In his spare time Greg is a keen sportsman and regularly plays tennis, golf, and skiing.

Sam Madron

Sam Madron

Sam has been with  A R Brown & Co for over 30 years. She has gained considerable experience in dealing with all types of property transactions, equity release, Home Reversion Schemes and commercial transactions.  She is a valued member of the property team.

As a Senior Conveyancing Executive Sam is able to act for clients with their sales and purchases, re-mortgages and equity release transactions.

Karen Powell

Karen Powell, Solicitor

​Karen Powell is a highly experienced practitioner having worked within the Private Client field for over 30 years. 

Karen specialises in the administration of estates, including Domicile and International Estates, Intestate Estates, as well as advising on Lasting Powers of Attorney and Wills.

Karen is compassionate and caring and offers clients support at what can be a very distressing time.  Karen prides herself on her dealing with all clients with sensitivity and care.

Serena Elliott is a Consultant Solicitor with the firm specialising in Wills, Powers of Attorney, Administration of Estates, Trusts and Court of Protection matters. 

With over 15 years of experience in the Private Client field, she is professional, compassionate and has a solid understanding of the needs of her clients. 

She is a full accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly and a Dementia Friend. She regularly writes legal articles for local magazines and has been invited as a guest speaker on BBC Sussex and Surrey radio to discuss the importance of Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Michelle has been with A R Brown & Co for over 10 years. Throughout this time, she has assisted solicitors to complete commercial and residential transactions. She is also extremely supportive of clients during what is often the largest transaction they will ever make.  

Lisa Foley
Wills & Probate Assistant

Lisa has worked in the legal sector for 30 years. During this time, she has provided secretarial support to Family, Litigation, Personal injury, and the Wills and Probate departments.

She currently works in the Wills and Probate department here at A R Brown & Co, where she is a valued member of the team. Lisa has a good rapport with clients who she handles with sensitivity and care.

Harry has recently joined A R Brown & Co as a Conveyancing Assistant, supporting Sam Madron.

Harry has worked as a Conveyancing Assistant for over 6 years and previously worked as an estate agent in the local area.

Harry completed a law degree at the University of Winchester and is currently studying to become a Chartered Legal Executive. Harry has already made a positive impact with his team and clients.

Away from work, Harry enjoys spending time with his family and friends, watching sport and paddleboarding.

Joanne is an experienced Legal Secretary having started work in a London City Firm.  During her career, she has gained experience and provided secretary support in all areas of law.   

She currently works in the Litigation Department at A R Brown & Co. providing assistance to Deborah Francis and Gregory Rollingson.   

She enjoys all aspects of her role and is helpful, organised and is dedicated to providing extensive support to the Directors and Litigation Team.

 

Lesley has worked in the property sector for over 20 years.  She joined A R Brown in 2022 and helps across all departments. She enjoys working with our team, is very efficient and is a pleasure to work alongside.

Frances’ previous career meant that she brings to the law extensive experience in corporate business, accounting management, sales, strategic and operational planning and forecasting.

She has worked in high street practices, corporate city firms and also in house.  All of which has given her a varied skill base with particular subject matter expertise in:

  • Complex land issues and facilitating practical solutions.
  • Telecoms Infrastructure and agreements pursuant to the Electronic Communications Code amended by the Digital Economy Act 2017 and the recent Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act 2022
  • Landlord and Tenant ’54 Act matters
  • Wayleaves to facilitate fibre providers and power providers.

She supports the busy residential team with any complex matters.  She also deals with Commercial Property transactions.

Lewina qualified as a solicitor in 2004 and specialises in commercial matters, with a particular interest in the recruitment sector.

Lewina is a straightforward, personable and effective communicator and will work with you for the best possible outcome. 

She can provide businesses with expert advice around contracts, terms of engagement, advice on regulatory matters relating to recruitment, data protection and much more. She is able to give businesses confidence in their decision making by supporting them with general commercial and contractual advice.

Fiona worked in Local Government in Hertfordshire but decided to make the move to sunny Worthing, where she embarked on a new career in Legal Accounts. Fiona joined A R Brown & Co in 2008 and plays a vital role in the firm’s continued growth.

She describes herself as an ‘Accounts Manager Plus’ and is always happy to take on new challenges according to the needs of the business.  

Fiona regards A R Brown & Co as her ‘work family’ and is proud to be part of such a committed and supportive team.

Carol has recently joined A R Brown & Co. as a General Administrator. She has many years of administrative experience, including working within the Mortgage industry and in Lettings Management. Carol takes pride in her work and is looking forward to learning new skills.

She hopes to be an asset to the business and is proud to be part of such a dedicated team.

Marilyn has been greeting clients on the telephone and when they call in to A R Brown & Co for over 20 years.  Clients are all met with a warm welcome by Marilyn, because in her words “she treats people in the manner she likes to be treated”. Clients often comment on how lovely our receptionist is. 

When she is not busy in reception looking after clients and brightening their day, Marilyn spends her time travelling, crafting and with her family.   

Louise has recently joined A R Brown & Co working in reception. Answering the phone and greeting clients, you will be greeted with a warm and friendly manner.

Away from the office Louise spends her time with her family and loves to travel.
