What are we looking for?

We are looking for a part-time Accounts Assistant to work five days per week, Monday from 9.00am-1.00pm, with occasional additional hours on Monday afternoon, when required. The role will include Reception cover from 12pm-1.00pm each day and occasional administrative duties.

Accounts Assistant duties and responsibilities

The successful applicant should have strong accounting skills and play a key role in delivering excellent accounting assistance to the firm’s Accounts Department.  They must be able to work on their own initiative, have effective communication and meticulous attention to detail.

Key duties:

Using Leap Case Management System to account for, and safeguard, client funds by:

  • Making payments by bank transfer and cheque
  • Recording receipts, payments and internal transfers
  • Checking financial statements and calculations
  • Paying invoices
  • Banking
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Data entry
  • Producing financial reports
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Taking debit card payments from clients over the telephone
  • Providing additional cover in the absence of the Accounts Manager
  • It would be helpful, but not essential, to have knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules

The starting salary range is dependent upon experience.  We offer a generous annual leave allowance.
